Welcome to Goodman Healthcare! When you book an appointment, we send you a video. It introduces our practice and answers many of the questions you might have.
In addition, intake forms are provided; please complete these online.

The Initial Consult

During your first visit, we want to get to know you and what your problem is. The four questions we need to answer are:

  • What’s wrong with you?
  • Can we help you?
  • How long will it take to get you better?
  • How much will it cost?

When you arrive, a patient educator tours our facility with you. After completing any additional paperwork, a postural analysis is done using the foot scanner.

Your doctor comes into the exam room and asks if there are any more questions. He will then proceed with the GHMS – Goodman Healthcare Movement Screen. This is an orthopedic test using a series of everyday movements.

The results are an indication of how well your body is moving and what your movement patterns are. X-rays are done at this point, if needed. Our goal, during this hour, is to collect as much information as possible, but not necessarily treat.

If a patient is in pain, we will offer palliative care to make them more comfortable. This may include electrical stimulation, or a heating pad to relax their muscles.

We want our patients to be proactive in taking care of their health. Understanding your condition, and the process of becoming well, is vital for your success. A spouse or significant other should come to the practice with you. Someone you know be supportive of your care plan and help you through the process.

Your second visit is scheduled soon after the initial consult. Patients receive their customized report of findings and recommendations for care. It answers the questions of:

  • How many visits will it take?
  • How long before I see results?
  • How much will it cost?

Our doctors stress the importance of returning for your second visit to discuss the findings. We advise patients of what we found through our testing and your treatment options; you always know what we know, no secrets.

Your doctor explains exactly what we’re treating and why. You’ll meet the rest of the team, set up your schedule and arrange finances. Once done, it’s time for treatment. You’ll receive your first adjustment and any other modalities included in your plan. Custom orthotics are ordered today; it takes 7-10 days to produce.

Starting with the third visit, rehabilitation exercises, like whole body vibration, are introduced. Training to support the exercises is also given. Self-paced exercises and homework assignments are part of the plan as well.

Goodman Healthcare is rolling out an online platform to allow patients to review short coursework assignments on their smartphones. They can follow at home and check on their progress with the practice.

Staff at the practice can also see what tasks have been performed and the extent of the patient’s progress. When your care plan is complete, we want you to know your primary complaint is gone-or as close to it as possible.
